SIGN OUR PETITION CALLING ON THE SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT TO BAN LIVE ANIMAL EXPORTS

BAN LIVE ANIMAL EXPORTS

We, the undersigned, call upon the South African government to ban live animal exports by sea. This practice subjects animals to extreme stress, overcrowded conditions, and prolonged suffering during lengthy voyages. Numerous reports have documented severe welfare issues, including inadequate ventilation, lack of food and water, and unsanitary conditions leading to disease and high mortality rates. The humane treatment of animals is a core societal value, and it is our ethical duty to protect them from unnecessary harm. By banning live animal exports by sea, as South Africans we can uphold our commitment to animal welfare, ensure humane treatment, and foster a more compassionate society. We urge the government to act swiftly to end this inhumane practice and prioritise the well-being of our animals.
